Barbara Jean Donaldson of Waco, Texas passed away Thursday, April 22, 2021. Memorial service to honor and celebrate her life will be Saturday, May 1st, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Oakcrest Funeral Home, Waco, Texas with Rev. Dennis Rajcek officiating. Visitation with family and friends will begin one hour prior to the memorial service.

Barbara was born in Flat, Texas on July 9th, 1934, to Thomas L. Glass and wife, Gladys. She married the love of her life in 1954 and was married for 62 years. During her working career, Barbara was employed at Monning’s Department Store, Cogdell’s, and Gold Bond. She ended her working career with Kelly Realtors after 26 years of dedicated service. She survived the Waco Tornado of 1953 while working for a dentist clinic in the upper floors of the Alico building. Some of her most favorite hobbies were gardening, cleaning, crocheting and cooking. She was known as “Granny” to all of her grandchildren. Some of her favorite pastimes were watching old Westerns, cooking shows, and political news.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Ralph E. Donaldson; her parents; and older sister, Christine.

She is survived by son, Daryl Donaldson; daughter, Kim Bradbury and husband, Joe. She was grandmother to three granddaughters, Christie Smith and husband, Eric, Amanda Ferrell and husband, Jared, and Stephanie Archer and husband, Billy. She was Great Grandmother to eight great-grandchildren, Madelyn Smith, William Smith, Jordan Archer, Noah Smith, Faith Ferrell, Christian Ferrell, Savannah Archer, and Millie Ferrell.

Special thanks to Dr. Gary Barbin, M.D. for his many years of considerate and kind care. A very special thanks to the entire staff of StoneyBrook of Hewitt Assisted Living Center for their care and loving attention to her these past few years. “Barbara and Ralph”, as they were known, were members of Grace Temple Baptist Church.
