Barbara Gist, 65, of China Spring, passed away on September 5, 2007.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday, September 10, 2007 at OakCrest Funeral Home with Chaplain Ken James officiating. Burial will be at Waco Memorial Park.
Visitation will be 5-7 pm Sunday, September 9 at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.
Barbara was devoted to her family and was always there for them. She was very involved in activities that included her family. She will always be remembered for her energy and ability to do most anything for her family and friends.
Barbara loved and cherished her children and had a special affection for her grandchildren who were the joy of her life.
Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and her husband, James B. Gist.
She is survived by one son; Robert Orchard and wife Leavone of Nashville, Tennessee, three daughters; Stephanie Roach and husband Jerimeh of Corinth, Mississippi, Dawn Carranza and husband Santos of Waco and Angela Low and fiance' Steve of Waco; six sisters, Louetta Ogassion of Arlington, Dorothy Alston of Brownwood, Gale Piel of Temple, Mary Ann Wooley of Mexia, Lillie Heard of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Rosa Lee Oshields of Augusta, Arkansas; five grandchildren, Kimberly Rickman, Jeremy Orchard, Justin Orchard, Devyn Low and Mason Gist; six step-grandchildren, Nathaniel Carranza, Julian Carranza, Forrest Crumby, Jacob Roach, Josh Hughes and Tommy Hughes; four great-grandchildren, Harlea Shaw, Jayden Rickman, Marlee Orchard and Izabella Orchard and one sister-in-law, ByrlAnn Bachus.
Pallbearers will be Glen Griffin, Robbie Eaton, Joe Dean Piel, Joe Worley, Dr. Donald Stewart and Tim Griffin.
