Barbara Henson

Barbara Ann Henson, 70, of Waco, passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at Providence Health Center.

Services will be Saturday, June 28 at 10 a.m. at the OakCrest Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Ron Durham officiating. Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday, June 28 at the Palestine City Cemetery in Palestine.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.

Barbara was born September 8, 1937 in Eureka to Leroy and Florence Dowd Barton.

She worked at Wal-Mart for over 20 years in the Palestine distribution center. She retired in 1997. She then moved to Waco and joined Columbus Avenue Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Robert Henson.

Barbara is survived by her daughters, Donna Hancock and husband, Ted of Larue and Pamela King of Palestine; sisters, Frances Ward of Denton and Carolyn Sootoo of Deer Park; grandchildren, Chris Hancock, Amber Hancock, Tony Hancock and Meagan King. She is also survived by her special friend and cousin, Ann Schmidt of Waco; special friend, Sylvia Pringle; and her companion, Raymond Grones.
