Bernard Prasifka, 82, of Waco, died Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at his residence.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, May, 15, 2009 at St. Louis Catholic Church, with Msgr. Mark Deering as celebrant. Burial will be at 12:30 pm Friday at St. Mary's Cemetery in West, Texas.

Rosary will be recited by Father David Leibham at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 14, at the OakCrest Funeral Home Chapel, 4520 Bosque Blvd. with family visitation following.

Bernard was born June 10, 1926 in West, Texas. He was married to Agnes Zapalac for 61 years. Bernard was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council 1358 and the KJT. He worked for Sears for 26 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Bertha Chada Prasifka, three sisters, and one brother.

Bernard is survived by his wife, Agnes, and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be: Johnny Gerick, Bobby Watson, Jimmy Mayes, Malcolm Hart, Ernest Holecek, and Joe Navasod. The Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus will serve as Honor Guards.

Memorials may be made to St. Louis Catholic Church or American Diabetes Association.

The family especially thanks Ruby Phillips of Armoni, and her dedicated staff, Cynthia, Juliet, and Suzette, and Southern Care Hospice for taking excellent care of Bernard.
