Betty Ruth Hahn, 79, of Waco, passed away at her home Sunday, January 15, 2006. Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Rosemound Cemetery with the Rev. Curtis Holland officiating.
Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Oakcrest Funeral Home.
Betty Ruth Hahn was born to James and Esther Crocker in Waco on October 7, 1926. She attended Waco schools. She married Alvin Hahn on October 19, 1953.
Her career was in food service, working at several different restaurants in Waco. She retired from Hillcrest Baptist Hospital in 2005 after working in the dining room there for 32 years. She enjoyed being of service to people.
She was fun loving, never met a stranger, was a loyal friend and was thought of by many as a "second mother." Her hobby was playing Bingo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her sister, Jane McDannel.
Survivors include daughter, Paula of Waco, brother-in-law, T. B. (Dick) McDannel of Waco, nephew, John McDannel and wife Jackie of Dallas, nieces, Jimye Sadler and husband, Paul of Plainview, and Jo Betsy Tyler and husband Mike of Waco, cousin, Glenda Pilgrim of Elm Mott, seven great nieces and nephews, and one great, great nephew. She loved her family.
