Betty Rainer Holt, 73, of Waco, passed away Monday, January 16, 2006, at her residence surrounded by her family.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 20, at OakCrest Funeral Home chapel will Father David Liebham officiating.
Visitation with her family will follow the service. A memorial video honoring her life will be shown during the visitation.
Betty was born in Windsor, Canada, to Zephire and Rosalie Parent. She married Frank Rainer in 1956, and they moved to Waco 30 years ago. He preceded her in death in 1971.
Betty worked as a bookkeeper at Joe L. Ward Company for 15 years and later at Richard Equipment. She was at Outdoor Connection until she became ill. She will be fondly remembered as a wonderful lady who took care of people in need, including giving them a place to live, and especially loved animals.
She took in several strays, and gave them a good home. She was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church.
She is survived by son, Rick Rainer and wife, Barbara of Lorena; granddaughter, Melissa Burks and husband, J.W., of Crawford; brothers, Clifford and Leonard Parent; sisters, Florence Atwood and Helen Corbett; several nieces and nephews; and pets, Fawn and Benji.
The family especially thanks Pat Hightower, her special friend; Liz Arellano, her caregiver; and the staff of Vista Care Hospice.
