Betty Jean Mitchell, 77, of Waco, passed away Thursday, January 5, 2006 at her residence. Graveside services will be at 12 noon Monday, January 9, at Waco Memorial Park South (Chapel Hill) with Mr. Ernie Christie officiating. Visitation will be from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday at the OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque. A memorial video of her life will be shown.
Betty was born July 18, 1928 in Waco to John and Kathryn Pollock. She attended Waco schools, and graduated from Waco High School. She married J.B. Mitchell on June 18, 1946 in Waco. She was a member of the Church of Christ and was an avid reader. She will be fondly remembered as a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by a son, Tim.
Survivors include her husband, J.B. Mitchell Jr. of Waco; son, John Mitchell and wife, Lilli, of Richland Springs; three grandchildren, Eric Mitchell of Austin, Courtney Mitchell and wife, Kirsten of New York City, and Collin Mitchell of Richland Springs; and sister, Patsy Utley of Arlington.
