Beverly P. Harriman Cheesman, 72, of Phoenix, died Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at Providence Health Center. A celebration of life will be 2 p.m. Friday, September 30, 2011 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church with the Rev. Michael Attas, M.D. officiating. Private burial at Oakwood Cemetery will precede the service.
Beverly was born July 25, 1939 in Gladewater, Texas to Samuel Plescia and Doris Falls Plescia. She graduated from Arlington Heights High School in Ft. Worth. In December of 1961, Beverly married Gordon Douglas Harriman, Jr. and they moved to Houston. After his death in 1984, Beverly remained in Houston. In 2007, Beverly moved to Phoenix with her current husband, Guy Walden Cheesman, where she resided until her death.
She was preceded in death by her parents; the father of her children, Gordon Douglas Harriman, Jr; and her mother-in-law, Winifred Crawford Kidd.
Beverly is survived by her husband, Guy Walden Cheesman of Phoenix; her daughter, Hillary Harriman Alpert and husband Robert of Paradise Valley, Arizona; her son, Gordon Douglas Harriman, III and wife, Susan of Waco; her sister, Lannie McHugh of Ft. Worth; sister-in-law, Edith Harriman Gilman of Houston; grandchildren, Gordon Douglas Harriman, IV and Samuel Lewis Harriman both of Waco and Falan Harriman Alpert of Paradise Valley, Arizona; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
