Billy Ray Duncan, 69 of Waco passed away on Sunday July 31, 2005 at local care center. Services will be 2pm Wednesday at OakCrest Funeral Home with Dr. Ed Carter officiating. Military graveside rites will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6 to 8pm on Tuesday at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.
He was born on May 14, 1936 in Mount Joy, Tennessee to Robert F. and Lacy (Follis) Duncan. Billy had received a BA in education from the University of Southern Mississippi. He married the love of his life, June Cotten on August 5, 1955. They would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Friday. Bill was a member of Columbus Avenue Baptist Church and was retired from the U.S. Air Force in which he was awarded the bronze star.
Bill is survived by his wife June Duncan of Waco; daughter, Charmaine Burke and husband Charlie of Flower Mound; son, Ray Duncan and wife Renee' of Spring; grandchildren, Tiffany Rae Burke, Lacey and Emily Duncan; brothers, Bob Duncan of California, Jack Duncan of Tennessee and R.M. (Cotton) Duncan of Texas and sister, Lucille Norman of Florida.
