Billie Ruth Burnett
October 15, 1925 – January 28, 2014
Billie Ruth Burnett, 88, of Waco, died January 28th, 2014, surrounded by her family. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 1st at the Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit in Waco.
Billie was born in Cross Plains, Texas in 1925 to William Bryant and Sue Webb. She was the beloved wife of the late JW Burnett. She was an active participant on the altar guild at the Church of the Holy Spirit. She had a great love for the game of golf, but enjoyed almost any sporting event available to her. She took every opportunity to travel, especially to her favorite getaway location, La Jolla, California. Above all, she enjoyed the (mostly) calm company of her family.
Billie was preceded in death by her husband, JW.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan Diebolt and son-in-law, John, as well as her son, Jim Hamill and his wife, Patricia; step-daughter, Angie Elliott and husband, Wayne; grandchildren include Brooke Schlecte and her husband, Charlie, Tiffany Morrison and husband, Earl, Brandon Diebolt, Heather Diebolt, Kim Gonzalez and husband, Jeff; great-grandchildren Sadie, Silas, Isabella, Hannah, Jack, Ashton, Jesse, Jonathan, Maddie, Emma and Alex.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Altar Guild at the Church of the Holy Spirit or the charity of choice.
Billie held a special place in the hearts of those close to her. Whether her role was wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, in-law, or friend, she touched the lives of all she contacted in a special way. She will be missed and mourned, but always loved and never forgotten.
