Billy Charles Davis, 75, of Waco, passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at his residence. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, March 10, 2012 at OakCrest Funeral Home with Rev. Curtis Holland officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Cemetery. Visitation with Mr. Davis' family will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, March 9 at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.
Billy was born May 26, 1936 in Bruceville to Nelson E. Davis and Francile Mayfield Davis. He attended Bruceville schools. He was a graduate of Baylor University. Upon graduation, he went to work for Waco Ready Mix Concrete where he served as the office manager until his retirement in 1986. He was a member of Bruceville Baptist Church.
He was a devoted fan of Baylor athletics, especially Baylor Bear football, basketball, track and Lady Bear basketball. He regularly attended home games and was known to travel to many out of town games.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his beloved nephew, Danny Leon Leuschner.
Billy is survived by his sister, Joycee Davis and husband, Tom of Big Spring; his nephew, Michael Leuschner and wife, Niki of Big Spring; nephews and nieces, Blake Brorman, Brett Brorman, Alex Leuschner and Bradie Leuschner all of Big Spring; his aunt, Alleen Peacock of Florence; cousin, Kenneth Sandel and wife, Lillie of Robinson; and many other cousins.
