Billy Gurley
September 18, 1933 – August 17, 2007
Billy E. Gurley, 73, of Bruceville passed away Friday. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Aug.20, at OakCrest Funeral Home 4520 Bosque Blvd., with Pastor Butch Hargrove officiating.
Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 pm Sunday, Aug. 19 at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.
Mr. Gurley was born on September 18, 1933 in Eddy to Walter C. Gurley and Gracie Braddy Gurley. He married Marsha Faubion in Troy May 29, 1973. Billy graduated form Eddy High School in 1952, he was a member of Bruceville Community Church. Billy was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of VFW Post 6008 in Hewitt.
He worked in sales and loved gardening and hunting and fishing with his family. He enjoyed drinking coffee and visiting with friends at the Chatterbox Cafe in Bruceville.
Billy was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
Billy is survived by his wife, Marsha; daughters, Jeana Gurley, Ronda Bowser, Sharla Bannenberg, Leisa Bland (Robert), Deana Stewart (Doug), Pam Todaro (David), Alisha Harper (Jason); son, Chip Edwards(Melanie); and sister, Corine Short,19 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandsons: Shane and Brad Lynch, Jason Bannenberg, Brandon Stewart, Dillon Davis, Mason Edwards, Bridger Hogan, Drake Todaro. Honorary pallbearers will be granddaughters: Shanna Hensley, Tana Bowser, Amy Box, Alisha Minor, Brittany White, Amanda Putz, Ashley Bowser, Kassidy Hogan, Ryann Edwards, Skye and Sailor Todaro.
