Blanche Thelma Daniels

Blanche Thelma Daniels, 90, passed away on July 30, 2014 at Greenview Nursing Home in Waco, TX.
Blanche Thelma Daniels was born November 8, 1923 in Freestone County, Texas. She was the last of five children born to Shannon Daniels and Willie Stephens Daniels. She grew up and attended Houge and Salem Schools in Teague, Texas. She became a Christian and was baptized at Salem Missionary Baptist Church at an early age.
In 1945, Thelma moved to Ft. Worth, where she met Frederick Hyrams and there was love at first sight. They we married and to this union one child was born. Later, Thelma moved to Mexia, Texas and did domestic work for years. Finally, she was hired at the MSS. After employment there, she went to Navasota Community College and got her CNA certificate, which enabled her to move to a Charge position on the 10 - 6 am shift on the Longhouse Unit. She retired in 1987.
Thelma was very active in Union Baptist Church and church secretary for twenty plus years. She was active in school and community affairs. Thelma lived with her sister Annie Green and nephew for many years. After retirement, she decided to go and live with her daughter in Hewitt, Texas. She was very happy there until an accident occurred in August 2011 that sent her to the hospital and then to a nursing home for rehab. Soon after her admission, dementia set in which changed everything.
She loved her family and traveling to visit them, it was a joy to her. She enjoyed serving the Lord and family reunions.
Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters, Annie Mae, Delia Ann, brothers, Lee Elliot, and Lawrence Riley; and several nieces and nephews.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her daughter, Neva Joyce (Jesse); grandson, Jesse Barron; granddaughter, (Carla) and great grandson, (Jesse Hunter). Many nieces, ( Ava, Rubby, Theresa, Claudene, Thelma, Marie), nephews,(Floyd, Bobby, Joe, Travis, Donald, Claude, Andrew and Earl Daniels), sister- in -laws, Emma Daniels of Compton, CA, and Georgia Hyrams of Augusta, GA; plus a host of cousins and friends.
