Robert Bradley Jones, 52 of Valley Mills, TX, a well known and beloved Baylor University professor, passed away suddenly Tuesday, July 13, 2004.

The service will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, 1001 North 18th Street, in Waco, TX at 9:30 AM, Saturday, July 17, with Rev. Julie Pennington-Russell officiating.

There will be an afternoon service in Comanche, TX at 3:00 PM at the Comanche Funeral Home Chapel, 411 W. Grand. Burial will follow at the Pendergrass Cemetery near Sidney, TX., in Commanche County.

Visitation with Bob's family will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at OakCrest Funeral Home of Waco. OakCrest Funeral Home is located right across the street from the Heart of Texas Fair Complex.

Bob was born January 3, 1952 in Seattle, Washington to Bernice and Cyril W. Jones. Bob earned his Bachelor's degree in Business from the College of Idaho and graduated from Baylor University with a Masters Degree in Business Management in 1976.

Bob ran Jones Distributing Company, a family owned Evinrude distributorship that had three divisions spanning 13 states. He lived many years in Denver Colorado while managing Jones Dist. before selling the family-business to a Fortune 500 company in 1990.

He then moved to Waco TX, where he taught Business Management and Entrepreneurship at Baylor University. The love and respect of both his students and peers was expressed when he received the Collins' "Professor of the Year Award", a University-wide honor.

He also was awarded many other teaching and academic awards within the School of Business.

Bob was a loving husband and father. He once said that the three most important things in life are "family, family and family".

He adored his wife and children and enjoyed providing the best of everything for them. Bob was not only a good father to his natural children but also a father-figure to countless Baylor students whose lives were touched
by his compassion, love and sense of humor.

Bob was a gifted professor who taught not only by the book, but also relying on his many practical insights and experiences in business.

He was a writer of poetry, a lover of music and a voracious reader of books. He enjoyed the outdoors, where he spent much of his time fishing, hunting, and metal detecting, but his greatest joy came from helping others.

His father, C.W. "Doc" Jones, preceded Bob in death. He is survived by his wife, Patty; his son, John Louis Jones of Arlington; his daughter, Jennifer Leigh Jones of San Francisco; his mother, Bernice Jones of Emmett Idaho; two sisters, Victoria Josslin of Bainbridge, WA and Elizabeth Medes of Emmett, Idaho, and her husband Mike; and a brother Mark Jones of Meridian, Idaho and his wife Kathleen. He leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and a lifetime of friends that will all miss him dearly.

Memorials may be made to Habitat to Humanity, PO Box 3303, Waco, TX 76707, or donate to Caritas in Bob's name.
