His Life Story
Bobby Gene Terry was born in Waco on December 30, 1948, to W.A. and Mella (Ferrill) Terry. After graduating from Richfield High School and Sam Houston State University, Bob joined his father's business (W. A. Terry Co., Inc.) full-time.
In addition to being in the automobile business all of his life, Bob was a licensed realtor. On October 29, 1977, Bob married his soul mate, the former Dorothy Holy. Together they have two daughters, Natalie and Allison.
Bob was a Eucharistic Minister at St. Jerome Catholic Church, where he was also an active member of the Empty Nest Club and the Men of St. Jerome. He enjoyed serving pancakes and jokes to the parish at the Men's Club's monthly breakfast.
For over two decades, Bob held the honor of being the youngest Past Master of J.H. Gurley Lodge No. 337. A 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason, he was also a member of the Karem Shrine Temple.
Bob cherished the time he spent with his family, and he never missed a single event in his daughters' lives. He also enjoyed gardening, decorating his daughters' birthday cakes, grilling, reading, listening to the oldies, and watching comedies. Bob loved animals and enjoyed playing with the family pets. He was also an avid bowler.
He was preceded in death by his father and sister, Dixie Terry Green.
Survivors
Bob is survived by his wife, daughters, mother, and sister, Betty Staton. Bob also leaves behind two nieces, seven nephews, one great-niece and three great-nephews, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends.
Many will remember Bob as a successful businessman, but all will recall his kindness and integrity, his smile and laugh, and his willingness to serve others.
He will be greatly missed for his warm and giving spirit, but he lives on in his family and friends, who look forward to the day of Resurrection.
