Bobby "Bob" Spears, 68, of Mt. Calm, passed away Monday, July 19, 2005 in his home after a lengthy battle with cancer. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at OakCrest Funeral Home.
Bob was born October 13, 1937 in Benton, Arkansas to Alton and Marie (Hunter) Spears. He was a skilled auto mechanic who especially liked to race cars at Prairie Hill.
He loved to fish, and had won several fishing tournaments. He was an avid, well-known CB'er whose handle was "Grease Monkey."
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Alton (Rusty) Spears and Dodger Spears; and sister, Betty Sue Mann.
He is survived by his daughters, Loretta Tolliver of West and Vickie Chadwick of Lacy-Lakeview; grandchildren, Travis Tolliver, Jessica Tolliver, Brad Bond and his wife, Sharlet, and Jordan Chadwick; and two great-grandchildren, Bradley and Braden Bond.
The family especially thanks Texas Home Health; Gloria Leathers, her daughter Peggy and niece Valerie, and the Hillcrest Home Health and Hillcrest Hospice for the exceptional care given to Bob during his illness.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
