Brian D. Pardo
October 1, 1942 - August 25, 2024
Brian Pardo, 82, of Woodway, passed away on August 25, 2024 at St. Catherine’s Providence Village after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. Visitation will be at 6:00 PM Thursday, September 5, at OakCrest Funeral Home, Waco. Services and Burial will be at 10:00 AM Friday, September 6, at Oakwood Cemetery, with Mike Tolleson officiating Brian’s celebration of life.
Brian was born October 1, 1942 in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania to Doral Dixie Dodd and Albert Sprague Pardo. He graduated from Phoenix High School, Phoenix, Arizona. In high school Brian was in the ROTC Air Force. He had a strong fascination of flying. After graduation, he went to the University of Arizona. At age 20, he thought the US was going to war with Russia during the Russian Missile Crisis. Brian dropped out of college his third year to join the Regular Army in November 1962 and signed up for Aircraft Maintenance. Brian spent a year in Korea and 4 years in Vietnam.

Military/Business Career
Brian was a man of boundless curiosity and unyielding spirit, led a life filled with adventure, dedication, and innovation. Brian proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1962 to 1968, achieving the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 2. His service took him overseas to Vietnam, where his leadership and courage while flying combat missions were deeply respected by his peers. His experiences during these years shaped much of his character, instilling in him a sense of duty, resilience, and honor that he carried throughout his life. After serving his country with distinction, and honorably discharged from the Army, Brian eventually moved to Texas, where he embarked on a new chapter of his life, buying farmland and establishing a ranching business with his twin brother Barry Pardo. Brian was a dreamer who, with conviction, had a relentless will to be the first and the best. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to establish and grow several successful ventures in solar and investment firms and various industries. Brian's natural curiosity and diverse interests guided him to explore and excel in fields as varied as aviation, archaeology, motorsports, boxing, astronomy, music and book writing.
In June of 1997, he met Linda Robinson. After a short courtship, Brian became a new husband and took on role also as father to her three children. Jason McKelvain, Amanda McKelvain and Jordan Bowar. There was a strong mutual love between Brian and the children. Brian’s grown children are Debbie Hubnik and Lisa Pardo.
Brian was a dedicated husband, dad, brother, uncle, cousin and friend to so many.
Brians survivors include: Linda Robinson, Danny Pardo, Jason and Kristen McKelvain, Amanda McKelvain, Jordan Bowar, Debbie Hubnik, Lisa Pardo. Nieces and nephews: Evan and Ashley Pardo, Kathleen Hammons. Grandchildren: Ashlyn McMaster, Autumn McMaster, Megan Cox, Taylor Fadel, Bailey Carr, Aspyn Pardo, Kira Hammons, and Gage Hammons.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Saint Catherine’s Providence Village for providing excellent care during a difficult time for Brian and his family. Thank you to all the nurses and doctors that took excellent care of him for which we are eternally grateful. A special thank you goes to Brandy and Felisha for going above and beyond in their care of Brian.
