Buddy Miller

Buddy Miller, 83, of Waco, passed away Monday, Feb. 14, 2011 at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 18, 2011 at OakCrest Funeral Home. A visitation with the family will be held Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011 at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.
Buddy was born in Isabella, OK to Grover Cleveland and Fannie (Mallory) Miller. After graduating from Oklahoma A&M University, now Oklahoma State University, he joined the Army and served as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne. He retired as a Lt. Colonel. Buddy was a member of the Masonic Lodge 92 A.F. & A.M. He held a 32nd degree and was a full York and Scottish rite Mason.
He loved to bowl and continued to do so for as long as he was able to. Buddy took pride in his lawn, enjoyed landscaping, and caring for flowers. He also liked to watch birds. He especially loved the thrill of playing blackjack and other games at the Eldorado Casino.
Buddy is survived by his daughter, Janis Lucia Milazzo-Hessel of Bruceville; son, Kevin J. Miller, of Thousand Oaks, CA; grandson, Dorian Michael Milazzo and wife, Leigh Milazzo, of Jacksonville, FL; step-son, Lance Allen Lefevre, of Plano; and great-granddaughter, Isabella Milazzo.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Troy Edwards Sullivan, a caretaker, whose love and care eased Buddy's time.
