Buford "Roy" Neie, 71, of Speegleville, passed away peacefully Friday, April 9, 2010, at home with his wife by his side. The Rev. Mike Patterson will officiate at a Memorial Service 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 13, at OakCrest Funeral Home, followed by cremation.
Roy was born November 2, 1938 in Austin to Gaylord O. Neie and Marcelle V. Neie. He attended Bruceville Eddy Schools, served in the United States Navy, and starting in 1964, served with the Los Angeles Police Department for 25 years, the last 14 as a Narcotics Investigator. He retired in 1990 moving back to Texas. He loved golfing, hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles, camping, having BBQs, and spending time with his family and friends.
His father and mother preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Isabel "Nina" Neie of Speegleville; children, Shari Cole of Round Rock, Tracy O'Brien and husband, Robert of Hewitt, Brian Roy Neie and fiancé, Annette Cossey of Round Rock, and Steve Neie and wife, Pam, of Lorena; six siblings, including sister, Barber Neie of Moody; 10 grandchildren; many cousins, nieces, nephews, and numerous friends.
