Carol Lucy Wilcox, 65, of Bruceville-Eddy, passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2009, at her residence.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at OakCrest Funeral Home with Chaplain Curtis Holland officiating. Visitation will be 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. Sunday at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd. A memorial video honoring her life will be shown during the visitation and service.
Carol was born October 8, 1943 in Buffalo, NY, to Martin and Grace Pecoraro. Carol moved to the Waco area in 1987. In 1993 she married Barney Wilcox. She was a certified welder for Foster Wheeler for seven years and Van Tran Electric for two years, and was a truck driver for Celadon for ten years. She enjoyed making long hauls with her husband for many years and seeing all the beautiful scenery. When Carol and her husband were not traveling, they spent countless hours relaxing on their boat at Lake Waco. Carol enjoyed cooking and was famous for her "sauce".
Carol was a real animal lover. You could always find her with her cherished dog "Peanut" sitting in her lap. She enjoyed watching various shows on Animal Planet and learning interesting animal facts.
She was talented at several hobbies, including gardening, jewelry making, and sewing. Carol cherished her family and made them the center of her life, and she will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Carol is survived by her husband, Barney Wilcox; sons, Martin DeRosier of Bloomfield, NY and David DeRosier and wife, Trina of Hewitt; daughter, Ruth Rogers and husband, Charles of Charlotte, NC; sister, Donna Pecoraro of Buffalo, NY; grandson, Joseph DeRosier of Atlanta, NY; granddaughters, Stephanie Gena of Buffalo, NY, Stacey DeRosier of Atlanta, NY, Sarah DeRosier of Cohocton, NY, Emily DeRosier of Hewitt, and Marissa DeRosier of Hewitt; and nephews, Gene Marcus Pecoraro and Dominic Pecoraro, both of Buffalo, NY.
