Carolyn Attaway

Carolyn Lorene Carpenter Cheek Attaway, 62, of Waco, entered her heavenly home, Sunday, May 31, 2009 after a lengthy struggle with diabetes and kidney disease.

Graveside services will be 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at the Gholson Cemetery with Reverend Bob Carpenter and Pastor Darrell Price officiating. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 2 at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.

Carolyn was born April 20, 1947 in Taylor to Curtis Carpenter, Sr. and Margaret Beatrice Lanford Carpenter. She attended school at LaVega, Gholson and West High School. She was a member of Grace Temple Baptist Church.

Carolyn's passion in life was her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her many friends.

She was preceded in death by her dad, daughter, Cindy Karole Cheek; and three brothers.

Carolyn is survived by her husband, James Earl Attaway of Waco; her Mother, daughters, Patty Maddison and husband, David of Waco and Donna Renee Rhodes and husband, Stephen of Flower Mound; son, John Wesley Cheek and wife, Tina of Gholson; 11 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and two very special friends, Della Shely and "Crazy" Carol.
