Carolyn Ellis Winters, 89, passed away Thursday, September 18, 2014. A Memorial Service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at Austin Avenue United Methodist Church with Rev. Tim Jarrel officiating. Visitation will be 5 - 7 p.m. Monday, September 22, 2014 at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.
Carolyn Ellis Winters was born July 25, 1925 to Dewey and Elizabeth Bobo Ellis in Fort Worth, Texas. She attended Wellington High School and went on to receive her B.A. Degree from Baylor University.
Carolyn married the love of her life, Walter C. Winters and had two children, Dan and Kathy. She was a member of Austin Avenue United Methodist Church. Carolyn was also a longtime volunteer for Meals On Wheels and the Latin American Christian Center. She was a member of several groups including the Mary Milam Garden Club, Delta Zeta Sorority, P. E. O., several bridge clubs, and the Shakespeare Club. Carolyn loved her husband and family, they were her greatest joy. She cherished her friends and will be greatly missed.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Dewey and Elizabeth Ellis.
She is survived by her husband, Walter C. Winters; son, Dan Winters and wife, Lori of Colleyville; daughter, Kathy Wolf and husband, Robert of Houston; brother, Dr. Dick Ellis and wife, Kay; sister, Betty Ritter; grandchildren, Samantha Wolf, Matthew, Michael, Sam, and Tim Winters.
