Cassie Hixson

Cassie Mae (Virginia) Hixson, aged 76, of Dawson, died Sunday, Nov. 3, 2002, in a Waco hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 6, in the OakCrest Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Dennis Mott officiating.
Burial will be in Patrick Cemetery near Waco.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.
Virginia was born May 18, 1926, in Jumbo, Arkansas, to Roy and Ivan Marie (Fields) Dockins. She later moved to Oklahoma. She married her husband, Louis Hixson, in Oklahoma City in 1946. They moved to Waco in 1947, and lived here until 1982 when they moved to Dawson. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dawson, and was a retired waitress.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Gordon Dockins and Hollis Dockins; and two sisters, Sherry Corbel and Caroline Sue Posey.
She is survived by her husband, Louis Hixson of Dawson; two daughters, Patricia Ann Hixson of Waco and Madlyne Darlene Surita of Waco; four grandchildren, Tony Michael Gage, Timothy Lewis Gage, Shawntee Darlene Hixson, all of Waco, and Brandon Lewis Hixson of Marshall, Texas; and three great-grandchildren, Chyenne Makayla Gage, Cyerra Rae-Anne Gage, and Ian James Kinder, all of Waco; three brothers, Leon Dockins of Mobite, Texas, E.L. Ray Dockins of Washburn, Texas, and Albert (Salty) Dockins of Mountain View, Oklahoma; two sisters, Kathaleen Mote of Wellington, Texas, and Kate Humphries of Wheeler, Texas.
