Catherine Bisbee

Ms. Bisbee passed away Monday morning at Lake Shore Village. She was a retired food service technician, and a fifty year plus member of the Order of Eastern Star. She was also a member of the First Methodist Church in Dania, Florida.

Catherine Nell Thomas was born March 13, 1920 in Marion, Indiana, to Mr. Sherman Thomas and Mrs. Bertha Harrington Thomas. She lived in Indiana until the early 1950's and then moved to South Florida. She remained in South Florida until 1993, at which time she moved to Waco to be near family after the destruction from Hurricane Andrew in 1992.

Ms. Bisbee was preceded in death by her parents, eight siblings, and two spouses (Eugene Carey & Charles Bisbee).

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Frederick & Geraldine (Gerri) Carey, Waco; two grandchildren, Douglas R. Carey, Wichita, Kansas and Krista J. Bain, Waco; one sister, Mrs. Nathleen Ford, Marion, Indiana, and three great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Wednesday at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque from 7-9 pm. Interment will be in Hollywood, Florida at the Fred Hunter Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorials be given to the Alzheimer's Association, North Central Texas Chapter, 3708 W. Waco Drive, Waco, Texas or The Geraldine Addison Carey Scholarship Fund at McLennan Community College Foundation, 1400 College Drive, Waco, Texas 76708.
