Charles Hillyer Freeman

Charles Hillyer Freeman 65, of Woodway died Thursday. Services will be 1:00 pm Saturday at St. Paul's Episcopal Church with the Rev. Chuck Treadwell officiating. Visitation will be 6 to 8 pm Friday at OakCrest Funeral Home 4520 Bosque Blvd. and following the funeral service in the Narthex at St. Paul's Episcopal Church. Graveside services will be 3:00 pm Saturday in Gatesville at Restland Cemetery.
Charles was born on December 7, 1941 in Crockett to Alvin Lawrence and Doris McGilvray Freeman, and grew up in Rosebud. He graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in electrical engineering, and received a Master of Science degree from the University of North Dakota. He served as a Captain in the United States Air Force. Charles was president of Electric Power Engineers and was active in the Texas Renewable Energy Industries Association. He was preceded in death by his father and his first wife, Virginia (Ginger) Bradford Freeman.
He is survived by his mother, Doris Fairchild of Gatesville; his wife, Mary Lynn of Woodway; his son Bradford (Brad) and his wife Deborah of Austin; his daughter Laura Elizabeth Freeman of Austin; his step-daughter Shannon Fink of Alexandria, Va.; his brother, Alvin Lawrence (Larry) Freeman and his wife Dr. Debra Andrist of Sugarland; his grandchildren, Jacob and William Freeman, and Annemarie, Alec and Liam Manley of Austin; nephews Cameron Freeman and his wife Julie, and daughter Ella Grace of Round Rock; and Stuart Freeman of Austin.
Pallbearers will be Doug Goodgame, Dudley Smith, Michael Osbourne, Kevin Conlin, Russel E. Smith, Tom Smith and Stuart Freeman.
