Lt. Col. (Ret.) Charles Joseph Robinson

Lt. Col. (Ret.) Charles Joseph Robinson, 85, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2007, in a Carrollton hospital. Graveside services with full military honors will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 14, at Waco Memorial Park with the Rev. Steve Ramsdell officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, Sept. 13, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at OakCrest Funeral Home.
Charles was born November 9, 1921 in New York City to Charles and Elizabeth (Cohen) Robinson. He graduated from Sunset High School in Dallas in 1939. He entered the Army Air Corps in 1943 and served in World War II and Korea as a fighter pilot. He continued to proudly serve his country in the U.S. Air Force until he retired after 25 years of service in 1967.
He married Wilma Dale Brown on September 19, 1945 in Los Angeles, and they raised two daughters. After he retired, he moved to Dallas and held numerous jobs in the private sector. He volunteered with the Richardson ARC Special Olympics. As a hobby he enjoyed carving ducks and was active in the Texas Wildfowl Carvers Association.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Edward and William; his wife, Wilma, and a daughter, Elizabeth.
He is survived by two daughters, Patty Marshall and husband, Floyd, and Mary Beth Robinson, both of Hewitt; sister, Elizabeth Ingram of Dallas; and a granddaughter, Sara Marshall of Hewitt.
