Charles Curtis Taylor, SR , 83, passed away Sunday, January 25, 2015. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, January 31, 2015 at the Waco Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Lawrence Junek officiating. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday, January 30, 2015 at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.
Charles Curtis Taylor SR was born May 6, 1931 in Thornton, TX to Bernard and Eloise (Cox) Taylor. He graduated from Thornton High School and went on to attend Baylor University. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War and was a proud member of squadron VC-61, aboard the USS Boxer. Charles was a professional photographer and was an affiliate of Rockwell International. Later in his career, he worked for the US Postal Service as a rural letter carrier. Also, he was a solid union steward for the Rural Letter Carriers Association. Charles was and avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing and hunting. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Joanna Taylor; daughters, Angela Cox, and Sandra Salazar; and nephew, Brett Curlee.
He is survived by his children, Julie Anders, Carol Brown, Charles Taylor, Jr. and Richard Taylor; grandchildren, William Daniel, John Daniel, Candice Daniel, Taylor Brown, Sofia Taylor; and 7 great grandchildren.
