Chris was born December 7, 1968, He was an inquisitive, intelligent, happy little boy that grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada. Guided lovingly and shown the goodness of the Lord by his mother, Roxie Hunter, Chris developed a very kind heart. He graduated from Western High School in 1987. He immediately enlisted in the army where he would serve a total of 8 years. Although an excellent restaurateur, he found a wonderful work home with Ryonet, an ink, screen, and machine selling company.
Chris was an excellent cook and loved to BBQ. He loved to play pool with his sons and spent his leisurely time fishing at the spillway. He was known for constructing anything you put in front of him or coming up with the best ideas for any kind of project.
He met his wife Felisha in October of 1995 and they became inseparable. He was an awesome husband and an even greater father to his children. Chris truly loved his family and his friends. He wanted to make everyone happy by leaving us with laughter and a genuine smile.
Chris is survived by...wife Felisha Willis-Bates of Waco; mother Roxie Hunter of Phoenix; grandmother Clara Hunter of Phoenix; son Christopher Bates, Jr (Corin) of San Antonio; daughter Claudia Jones (Michael) of San Antonio; son Aleman Bates of San Antonio; son Essaryah Bates (Melissa) of Waco; daughter Azariah Bates of Waco; son Macabeus Bates of Waco and daughter Ophelia Bates of Waco.
