Christopher (Chris) Noel Mitchell, 49, passed away, Monday, March 21, 2016. Services will be 10 am Thursday, March 24, 2016 at OakCrest Funeral Home, with Brother Rex Bland officiating, with burial to follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00pm Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at the funeral home.
Chris was born December 25, 1966 in Waco, Texas to Cecil Ellis and Shirley Ann Ward. He loved to play guitar and sing country and western music and classic rock, and would sit in with different bands. He loved fishing and hunting and his favorite football team was the Washington Redskins. Chris had a passion for NASCAR, his favorite was #48 Jimmie Johnson, “boogity boogity”. Chris was shipping-manager at Cargill Turkey Products for 22 years and worked in the warehouse at Owens-Illinois for 5 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Vickey Lynn Hennig. Chris is survived by his wife, Roxanne McMahon Mitchell; daughters, Brittany Mitchell and Christina Mitchell and her fiancé, Osbin Lumpkin; 3 granddaughters; 2 grandsons; and sister, Virginia (Ginger) Sims, all of Waco; brother, Rex Taylor of Austin; mother-in-law, Wanda McMahon of Waco; aunt, Linda Hickey of Winnsboro; brothers-in-law, Ed McMahon and wife Melissa of Abilene and Russell McMahon of Waco; sister-in-law, Rosalind Baldwin and fiancé Brian Courter of Waco; as well as several nieces and nephews and cousins.
Pallbearers are: Ed McMahon, Russell McMahon, Osbin Lumpkin, Arlo Michel, Chris Michel and Brian Courter.
