Cindy Matustik Munson, 55, of Irving passed away at the Baylor Medical Center on Thursday, December 18, 2008 after a short illness.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, December 20, 2008 at the OakCrest Funeral Home chapel, 4520 Bosque Blvd., with Msgr. Mark Deering officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
The rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Friday at OakCrest Funeral Home led by Father David Leibham. A visitation with her family will follow.
Cindy was born December 14, 1953 to Joe and Helon (Sydow) Matustik. Cindy was a 1971 graduate of Reicher Catholic High School in Waco. She then attended North Texas University in Denton, and graduated in 1975 with a degree in sociology.
Cindy was an accountant at Austin Commercial LP of Irving since 2000. She was a member of the Holy Family of Nazareth Catholic Church in Irving.
Cindy loved needlework and animals especially cats. She was really a giving person, always willing to help others first. She recently graduated from the Citizen's Fire Academy of Irving where she volunteered at fire scenes to help firefighters. Cindy was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by a brother, Larry Matustik; step-brothers, John McBurnett and Steve McBurnett; and a step-sister, Martha Stewart, all of Waco; and her stepmother, Frankie Matustik.
Pallbearers will be John McBurnett, Carter McBurnett, David Stewart, Maxwell Stewart, Mike Matustik, and David Matustik.
Memorials may be made in her name to the charity of your choice.
