Clara Kluck Drews went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 13, 2013.
The family will receive friends at 1 p.m.Tuesday, November 18, 2013 at OakCrest Funeral Home. Services will follow at 2 p.m. with Pastor James Menke from Trinity Lutheran Church where Clara was a charter member. Burial will follow at Rosemound Cemetery.
She was a loving wife and devoted mother, who loved to cook, bake, sew, and work in her vegetable and rose gardens. She worked for the Waco Independent School District for 15 years. After her retirement, she did volunteer work such as helping make Bibles for the blind with the Braille Group at her church, Trinity Lutheran Church, which was located in Waco, Texas, at the time but now is in Woodway, Texas.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Berthold Drews; her parents, Charlie and Augusta Kunkel Kluck; her brother, Alfred Kluck; and her sister, Stella Kluck Drews.
She was survived by her daughter, Joyce McEntire and husband, Ed of Kingsport, TN; her son, Jerry Drews and wife, Pat of Georgetown, TX; five grandchildren, Matthew McEntire and wife, Katie of Stuttgart, AR, Megan McEntire Young and husband, Ritchey of Somerset, NJ; Michelle Drews Morgan and husband, Loren of Leander, TX, Jason Drews and wife, Anne of Cedar Park, TX, and Melanie Drews of Austin, TX; three great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
In 2007 Clara, a lifelong resident of Waco, moved to Kingsport, TN, to live with her daughter. The family sincerely thanks the caregivers at Hermitage Health Center, Elizabethton, TN, for their loving care.
Pallbearers will be Matthew McEntire, Jason Drews, Loren Morgan, Ralph Drews,Roger Drews, Ronnie Kleypas, Honorary Pallbearers are nephews and nieces.
