Clara Woodward

Clara Mae Woodward, 91, of Beverly Hills, passed away at her home Wednesday, March 9, 2011. Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at OakCrest Funeral Home with Allen Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park.

Clara was born July 2, 1919 in Mason County Texas to John Henry and Lena Alice Cruse Cavaness. Edwin R. Woodward and Miss Clara Mae Cavaness were married in Brady, Texas on May 16, 1945. Mr. and Mrs. Woodward opened Tastee-Nut Donut Shop in 1955 in Beverly Hills where they operated the shop until 1976. Clara opened Clara's Wedding and Party Shop in 1971 which she owned at the time of her death.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edwin R. Woodward, who passed away in 1985; and her son, Clayton M. Woodward, who passed away November 12, 2006.

Clara is survived by her son, Douglas E. Woodward of Beverly Hills; her brother, Marvin Cavaness of Mason; cousin, LeRoy Cavaness of San Angelo; and numerous other cousins and friends.
