Clarence Stovall

Clarence F. Stovall
October 29, 1926 - April 17, 2012

Those who knew Clarence Stovall, knew a generous, loving, honest. loyal, (and rather tall), man who devoted himself to providing the best life imaginable for his family.

He worked tirelessly, first as a Texas State Trooper, then as a Sergeant for the Department of Public Safety for 25 years, before retiring to become an entrepreneur and business owner. He loved the jewelry business almost as much as he loved playing 42. But nothing compared to his love for his family, friends, and beloved dog, Katie.

He served his country proudly in Korea, then came home to marry his wife Wanda, and years later, adopt his daughter, Tina.

Clarence passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2012, at the tender age of 85. He's been reunited with the love of his life, who no doubt was waiting for him with open arms and a hot cup of coffee. He will be loved and missed every minute of every day.

He is survived by his daughter, Tina Stovall of Fort Worth, three grandchildren, Mary Jo Elizabeth Widner of Fort Worth, Michael Blake Widner of Austin, Alec Somer Widner of Lubbock, and one great-grandson, Gavin Christopher Ray of Fort Worth. He leaves behind three sisters, Lorene Fuller of Lakewood, Washington, Belle Young of Kilgore, Texas, Lois Turner and brother-in-law, Jessee Turner of Lake Elsinore, California, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Corrice Francis Stovall and Mary Lee (Johnson) Stovall, wife, Wanda Stovall, sisters, Althea Gibson and Maye Gardner, and brother James Arvel Stovall.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, April 21, 2012, at OakCrest Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Friday at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Boulevard.
