Consuelo (Connie) Salazar Burns, 49, of Waco, Texas, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Monday September 6, 2021. Funeral services will be 10am Saturday, September 11, 2021 at OakCrest Funeral Home, with Pastor Marian Smith officiating, burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday, September 10, 2021, 6 to 8pm at OakCrest Funeral Home.

Connie was born on April 19, 1972 in Waco Texas to Pete and Guadalupe (Lupe) Rodriguez Salazar. She attended Waco schools. She was a loving daughter, mother, grandmother and sister. Connie was kind to everyone she crossed paths with and was always willing to help anyone in need. Connie will be greatly missed by family and many friends.

She is preceded in death by her mother and brother-in-law Kenneth Harper.

Connie is survived by her children, Eric Salazar (Ashley Pearsall) and Raven Watkins (Amber Dixon); grandchildren, Tihanna, RaeAnna and Deshann Jones, I’Layiah, Eric and I’Breeyana Salazar, Mia Garcia-Diaz; sisters, Linda Harper, Lucy Faulkner and husband James; brother, Pete Salazar and wife Janet. Connie had many nieces and nephews who she treated as if they were her own children. Cousins and friends who were more like brothers and sisters.

Connie worked at Subway for 17 years, during that time she had an incredible boss, who she also considered a friend, thanks Kevin Allen for all that you did for our sister.

Pallbearers are James Faulkner, Kevin Harper, Eric Salazar, Donta Diggs, Trenton London, Amber Dixon, and Mike Daniel.

Honorary Pallbearers are Pete Salazar and Pete Salazar Jr.
