Cozette Adams, 71, of Waco, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, March 30, 2009.

Services will be at 11 a.m., Friday, April 3rd at Seventh & James Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 2nd at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque.

Cozy was born on January 23, 1938, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Harris Drury Story and Treva Lometa Deering Story.

A proud graduate of Baylor University, Cozy was active in Chi's Service Sorority. She began her teaching career in 1960 in Waco ISD. She also touched the lives of students in Lawrence, Kansas, and at Midway ISD.

On December 23, 1960, she married Bill T Adams, Jr. They have one son, David Wayne Adams, also of Waco.

Cozy was an avid Lady Bears Basketball fan and charter member of the Tip Off Club. She was also active in the McLennan County Democratic Party. She has long been affiliated with the Texas States Teachers Association, member of the Waco Retired Teachers and of Seventh & James Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband, Dr. Bill T Adams, Jr., son and daughter-in-law David and Bee Adams; brother H.D. Story and family of Aledo, Texas; 2 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
