Cristian De La Rosa, de 28 años, residente de Waco, Texas, falleció el 8 de abril de 2025.

Cristian nació el 13 de mayo de 1996 en Fresnillo, Zacatecas y más adelante hizo de Waco su hogar. A los 13 años fue diagnosticado con el síndrome de Guillain-Barré, una condición que enfrentó con una fortaleza y un valor silencioso a lo largo de su vida. Se graduó de La Vega High School en 2014, siempre decidido a salir adelante a pesar de los obstáculos.

Cristian era un alma noble—sabio más allá de su edad, infinitamente paciente y siempre poniendo las necesidades de su familia antes que las suyas. Era de esas personas que se ponían una cara valiente para que los demás no se preocuparan. Su fuerza no era ruidosa; era firme, serena e inquebrantable.

Le encantaban las películas del viejo oeste, llenar la casa con música desde sus bocinas—country, rock, jazz y “viejitas pero bonitas.” Pasaba horas viendo videos sobre la vida en los ranchos de México y se sentía profundamente atraído por la historia y la naturaleza. Esas pequeñas cosas le traían paz y alegría.

Cristian fue precedido en muerte por su padre, Eulogio De La Rosa. Le sobreviven su querida madre, Norma Carlos; su hermana, Daniella De La Rosa; y su hermano, Anjel De La Rosa, así como numerosos familiares y amigos que siempre llevarán su memoria en el corazón.

La velación se llevará a cabo el martes 15 de abril a las 6 p.m. en OakCrest Funeral Home, seguida del rosario a las 7 p.m. La misa funeral será el miércoles 16 de abril a las 11 a.m. en la iglesia católica St. Francis, y el sepelio tendrá lugar en el cementerio Oakwood.

Cristian De La Rosa, 28, of Waco, Texas, passed away on April 8, 2025.

Cristian was born on May 13, 1996, in Fresnillo, Zacatecas and later made Waco his home. At the age of 13, he was diagnosed with Guillain-Barré Syndrome, a challenge he faced with strength and quiet courage for the rest of his life. He graduated from La Vega High School in 2014, always determined to keep moving forward no matter the obstacles.

Cristian was a gentle soul—wise beyond his years, endlessly patient, and always putting the needs of his family before his own. He was the kind of person who wore a brave face so others wouldn’t worry. His strength wasn’t loud; it was steady, quiet, and unwavering.

He loved old westerns, filling the house with music from his speakers—country, rock, jazz, and “viejitas pero bonitas.” He spent hours watching videos about ranch life in Mexico and was fascinated by history and the natural world. These were the things that brought him peace and joy.

Cristian is preceded in death by his father, Eulogio De La Rosa. He is survived by his loving mother, Norma Carlos; his sister, Daniella De La Rosa; and his brother, Anjel De La Rosa—along with many extended family members and friends who will always carry his memory in their hearts.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 15, at 6 p.m. at OakCrest Funeral Home, followed by a rosary at 7 p.m. A funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday, April 16, at 11 a.m. at St. Francis Catholic Church, with burial to follow at Oakwood Cemetery.

Cristian’s quiet strength and kind heart will never be forgotten.“Though his body was tired, his spirit was fierce. We’ll carry him with us, always.”
