Dale Wayne McClendon, 38, of Waco, went to be with his Lord and Savior early Sunday morning, March 26, 2006. Services will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, March 30, at the Seventh & James Baptist Church with Dr. Raymond Bailey officiating. Burial will follow in Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.

Dale was born in Weslaco, Texas, November 26, 1967, and he attended and graduated from Midway High School in 1989. He worked for ARAMARK Dining Services at Baylor University for 17 years. The joy of his life was his family, friends, and his church. He was an active and faithful member of Seventh and James Baptist Church — his other family.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jackson C. Maloy and Eula and Guy Woods McClendon.

He is survived by his parents, Dale and Jackie McClendon of Waco; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Michael and Gayla McClendon, Waco, and Wade and Ashley McClendon, Waco. His true happiness came from time spent with his two nephews –Grayson and Grant McClendon of Waco. Also surviving him is his grandmother, Peggy Maloy of Weslaco along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins who loved him very much.

Pallbearers will be Dale McClendon, Michael McClendon, Wade McClendon, Steve Beck, Ryan Beck, and Derek Maloy. Honorary pallbearer will be Darrell Maloy.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Seventh and James Baptist Church Children's Fund, 602 James Street, Waco, TX 76706.
