Dan Allen Graves, 76, of Waco, passed away Thursday, March 11, 2004. Celebration of his life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 13, 2004, at Lakewood Christian Church with Dr. Jerry Kirkpatrick officiating.

Dan was born April 3, 1927, to James and Annie Laura Graves in Hubbard, Texas. He graduated from LaVega High School and later earned his B.A. in Business Administration from Baylor University. After serving in the Navy during WWII, he married Martha Bradley. He was employed by Texas Power and Light Company, now TXU, and was a Southern Division Sales Representative before retiring after thirty-three years of service. He was a member of Lakewood Christian Church, serving in many capacities. A 32nd degree Mason, he was a member of Karem Temple of Waco, Fidelis Lodge #1127, Waco Commandery #10, and Waco 45, R.A.M. Mr. Graves was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Wendell.

He is survived by his wife, Martha; son, Scott and wife, Deborah, of Venice, Florida; son, Brad of Waco; three grandchildren, Becky, Meggan, and Danny of Venice, Florida; and brother, John Graves and wife, Linda, of Lorena.

The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff of Quality Care and Hillcrest Hospice for their nursing skills and tender care. The family would also like to especially thank Gwen Williams for all the comfort she added to Dan's life.

Dan will always be remembered for his readiness to help, his love of nature, his quick wit and ready laugh, and for the love he had for his beloved Martha, his wife of 57 years.
