Dr. Daniel Edwin Wivagg, 61, Professor of Biology and Director of Biology Undergraduate Studies at Baylor University, passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2005, in Hillcrest Hospital.
Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at the OakCrest Funeral Home Chapel, 4520 Bosque Blvd., with Chaplain Larry Holden officiating.
A reception with his family will be held at the funeral home immediately after the service. A memorial video of his life will be shown during the reception.
He was born on November 14, 1943 in Worcester, Massachusetts. He was a kind and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. His memory will be cherished by all.
Dr. Wivagg taught at Baylor University for twenty-five years making significant contributions to the science community. He was a dedicated teacher and researcher who loved to challenge and inspire all his students.
Besides his lovely devoted wife, Rebecca Wivagg, he is survived by his son, Jonathan Wivagg and his wife, Jennifer, their daughter Allison; a daughter, Jennifer (Jennie) Wivagg, twin sons, Peter and his wife, Elizabeth, Eric and his wife, Danielle; and his children's mother, Ann Wivagg; stepson, Cody Cassell and stepdaughter, Kelly Margot and her husband, Matthew and sons, Ethan and Augustus; and his brothers, Peter and Bob Wivagg.
The family would like to express its gratitude to all the doctors, nurses and chaplains who showed such dedication, care and attention to Dan while he was at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Hospital.
Memorials may be sent to Tapestry Institute, PO Box 97 Harrison, NE 69346. Dr. Wivagg served as the Chairman of the Board of this great organization. The family appreciates all their work, and the words of inspiration they will provide at the service.
