Danna Gilbert, 80, of Clifton passed away September 14, 2011 after a sudden car accident in Waco. Her body was cremated. A remembrance celebration for the family will be held Saturday, September 24, 2011. Any memorials are asked to be made to the Cancer Society, with the appreciation of the family.
Danna was born July 4, 1931, in Naples, Texas, the last of three daughters of Marion L. and Thelma McMichael Davis. The family moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1932. She worked as a secretary for many years, before moving to Texas in 1970. She and her husband, Donald Gilbert, owned and operated Don's Humidor & Coffee Beans in Waco before retiring to Lake Whitney. Danna was a member of First Baptist Church of Laguna Park.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Gloria Brown.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Donald D. Gilbert; son, Stephen C. Scott and wife, Patricia of Waco; one grandson, Patrick Andrew Scott and his wife, Sarah of Waco; step-daughters, Donella Meadows of Tulsa and Dolores Nelson and husband, Ivo, of Huntsville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
