Danny Cole

Danny Wayne Cole, of Speegleville, passed from this life into the loving arms of our Lord on Sunday, March 1, 2009, surrounded by his loving family.

Visitation with the family will be 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3, at the OakCrest Funeral Home Chapel, 4520 Bosque Blvd. Services are scheduled for 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 4, at OakCrest Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Bosqueville Cemetery on Flat Rock Rd.

Dan was born May 19, 1946 to John D. & Gladys Pickworth Cole in Lodi, OH, and graduated from Black River High School in 1964. He attended Ashland University, Ashland, OH, and served in the Air Force Reserves, Mansfield, OH, for 8 years. Prior to moving to Texas in 1977, Dan was employed at A.L. Garber Co. and Sohio Truck Stop, Ashland, OH. After arriving in Waco, Dan spent 31 years of his work career with Gulf States Paper Co.

Dan was a loyal and abiding friend with an exceptional wit, humor, and grace. He was generous and always a loving and caring person. Dan was well respected by colleagues and friends, loved by family and neighbors, and cherished by his wife, Emestine Case Cole of 41 years, who survives him. Dan had depth and strength of character, was an avid reader, sports enthusiast, and gardener. Dan was a "winsome witness," a devout person, who was eager to spread the word of God, and the story of Jesus Christ. Dan faced the adversity of cancer with courage and optimism, a constant smile, and an unshakable, positive attitude knowing God is in control. He was a member of the Speegleville Baptist Church.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents, son Tyrone Smith, and father-in-law Okie Case, New London, OH.

Dan was a husband who faithfully loved his wife, Emestine, mother-in-law Inez Case Gasser; his children, Keith (Rhonda) Campbell, Gordon (Stephanie) Campbell, Danny S. (Carolyn) Cole, and Jeffrey W. Cole. Grandchildren: Th Heather (Kenneth) Cash, Rhiannon, Robby, Jaeqie aI Theresa Smith; Justin, Cody, and Nil Ciara Campbell; Ashley, Tanner, and Landon Campbell; Ryan, Sammy, and Cassidy Cole. Nephew Bernie (Cindy) Yoder, Milan, OH; nieces Debby (Alex) Robert, Payson, UT; Beth (Dan) Norman, Hillsboro, OR; Jennida (Frank) Kriews, Norwalk, OH; Arinette (Robert) Pullin, Roosevelt, UT; Amber Yoder, Payson, UT; extended family, Jo Ann Moreno, Donna Dwyer, Bonita Huff, M.J. and Mike; great-grandchildren Kristen Cash,
Cadence, and Austin Knoble. Dan was a brother who gave and received love from his sister, Gwynetta Peachy
(Gene) High, Medina, OH; brothers, Melvin (Phyllis) Cole, Rittman, OH, Robert Cloyd
Cole, Lodi, OH, sister-in-law, Yvonne (Dan) Dearth, Roosevelt, UT; nieces Sibyl (Alex)
Olszewski, Medina, OH; Betsy (Paul) Manos, Fairlawn, OH; nephew, John (Stacey)
Cole, Cinnamon Lake, OH; great uncle to Noelle and Robert Olszewski, and Sarah Cole.
