Darlene Rutherford passed away on June 30, 2012. A Memorial Service service will be held at Western Heights Baptist Church on Friday, July 13, 2012 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Kip Osborne officiating. Private burial will be at Billington Cemetery.
Darlene was born in Shelby County, Texas on November 4, 1929 to Bessie Goodman and Tearl Perry.
She was employed in retail businesses and later worked with her husband , T., who was General Manager and Vice-President of Clifton-Simpson Furniture , as Westview Store Manager and buyer. Darlene volunteered at Care Inn for many years. She taught the Rachel Sunday School Class, worked in WMU, quilted with Willing Hands Quilting Group, sang in the Sanctuary Choir, and attended many
other activities at Western Heights. Bowling at Lake Air Lanes for 28 years
gave her great joy and the company of many dear friends.
At home she crocheted items, especially angels, that have found their way into
homes all over this area.
Darlene was preceeded in death by her husband, T. B. Rutherford, Jr., her
parents, her brother, Cecil Perry, and her sister, Beatrice Perry.
She is survived by her daughters, Iris Elaine Anderson of Temple, Tx. and
Linda Sue Rutherford of Seguin, TX., five grandchildren, thirteen
great-grandchildren, one sister, Leola Gochnour of Clear Lake City, TX., three
sisters-in-law Ruth Sholl, Doris Commander, Joann Simpson, and husband, Bob, and
numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
