Darrell (AL) Sturgeon of Waco Texas fell asleep in death on May 18, 2024 at 86 years old.
Al was born on May 15, 1938 to Albert & Emma Sturgeon in Cobden, Illinois.
Al is survived by his wife Eva Patricia Stubbs Sturgeon. They married July 19, 1959 and had three children: Debby, Terry, and Dana.
He was a loved father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, brother, cousin, and friend.
Al had 9 grandchildren: Julie, Ivy, Kellie, Ajia, Krista, DJ, Zachary, Victoria, and Mallory.
8 great grandchildren: Mikey, Emma, Carson, Parker, Bryce, Alyssa, Maykenzie, Hayden, Penelope and Tre’.
His life forever changed in January of 2012 when he suffered a major stroke. He was never able to turn the clock back, but he never lost that crooked smile that made it easy to talk to him as he truly listened- ready to tease, laugh & joke with you.
The highlight of his day was when the friends popped in just to say hi and share a scripture, prayer, and hug-many times with coffee and donuts. He treasured his family and friends.
Al was a longtime worshipper of Jehovah God and symbolized his dedication as a Jehovah’s Witness on June 15, 1972. He served as an elder in many congregations and continued to do so until his passing.
He was known for his frankness and his loving concern for the brothers. He skillfully taught how Bible promises would benefit mankind for over 52 years.
Al faithfully endured to the end.
