Darryl "Darry" Philip Clemmer left his earthly body for the Promised Land at 6:19 p.m. on Friday, January 4, 2013. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be 2 p.m. Friday, January 11, 2013 at Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit with Fr. John Wells officiating. A reception will follow at the parish hall.
Darryl was born in Grandfield, Oklahoma on October 29, 1936 to Norman and Florence Clemmer. Darryl graduated from Grandfield High School in 1955 and graduated from Midwestern University in Wichita Falls in 1960. He married Linda Miller at her parent's home in Randlett, Oklahoma on November 21, 1963. The pride and joy of his life, Todd, was born on December 14, 1968. He retired from Crum and Forrester Insurance Co. as Claims Manager for the Waco area and was presently employed by the wonderfully caring Fulbright, Winniford Law Firm. He loved everyone and especially his family, friends, employment and the cat "Jude".
He was preceded in death by his parents, Florence and Norman Clemmer, in-laws Iva and Lee Miller, and sister- in-law and husband, Phyllis Miller Houk and Kenneth Houk.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Linda; son and daughter-in law, Todd and Renae; grandchildren, Katie and Lee Clemmer; brother and sister-inlaw, Jimmy and Betty Clemmer of Watsonville, California; brother in-law and wife, Frank and Marilyn Miller, of Tyler; nephews, Scott Clemmer of Watsonville, CA., Philip Clemmer of Sacramento, CA., David Houk of McKinney, and Jimmy Miller of Plano; and nieces, Donna Miller Hubert of Grapevine and Deanna Houk Penner of Burkburnett.
The family would like to thank Michelle with Providence Hospice and Ericka with Providence Home Health, Ed with Providence Hospice Volunteers, and a very special thank you to William P. Coleman, M.D.
