David C. Jansing, 56, of Waco, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, January 8, 2015. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 13, at St. Louis Catholic Church with Father John Guzaldo as celebrant. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
The rosary will be led by Deacon Greg George at 6 p.m. Monday, Jan. 12, at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Boulevard. Visitation with his family will be from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.
The Knights of Columbus will serve as Honor Guards at the rosary and mass.
David was born December 16, 1958 in Waco, Texas to Jerry and Pat Jansing. He graduated from Reicher Catholic High School in 1977 and then the University of Texas in 1983. David enjoyed his varied career in the banking industry, most recently as a bank consultant with Coker, Wommack & Company.
David was happiest when grilling for family and friends. His barbeque chicken was a family favorite. David was an avid story-teller and would often quote classic movies and the lyrics from old blues while sitting around the camp fire.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Jansing.
He is survived by his mother, Pat Jansing; his siblings, Gerald (Butch) Jansing; Joanne Jaster and husband, Billy; Kathleen Allison and husband, Randy; Harold Jansing and wife, Raylynn; John Jansing; and Michael Jansing and wife, Shirley. Several nieces and nephews who will lovingly remember him as “Uncle Punk”.
Pallbearers will be Richard Castillo, John George, Robert Gough, Andy Littrell, Trip Sheehy, and Darrell White.
