After the business became AMT/Rural Metro in 1989, he was made a Shift Supervisor and later elevated to Waco Manager, directing the operations during the historic Branch Davidian standoff.
In 2001, he left EMS and joined the VA Regional Office as Veteran Service Representative. In 2005, he joined the VA Fiduciary Department serving veterans in multiple counties before taking a medical retirement in November 2013.
Dave married the love of his life Darla Deen on January 4, 2008. Dave’s life was unselfishly devoted to helping others and attending to their needs. He loved fishing, RV camping, cruises, and traveling with his family.
