David Washburn, 74, of Waco, passed away Thursday, June 19, 2008 at a local care center after being diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2002.
Cremation was arranged through OakCrest Funeral Home. A private burial officiated by Monsignor Mark Deering will take place at a later date.
Mr. Washburn was born December 20, 1933 in Detroit, MI. He was the son to the late Arthur Washburn and Florence Erickson Washburn. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 20 years, including a tour of duty in Vietnam, before retiring in 1973. He attended St. Louis Catholic Church.
Mr. Washburn is survived by his wife of 51 years, Rose Ann; daughter, Edith Ann McDade; grandchildren, Michelle McDade, Don McDade and David McDade and Schnell; two great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Margaret Narovec and brother-in-law, Phelps Brookshire; and family friend, Destiny Traylor.
The family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff at Jeffrey Place Health Care Center and to the staff at Vista Care for their devotion to and care of Mr. Washburn.
