Carl Riddle, 85, of Speegleville, passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at his residence. Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 17, 2013 at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation with his family will be prior to the graveside service beginning at 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Saturday at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd.
Carl was born July 8, 1928 in Mertzon, Texas to Lloyd Whitcomb Riddle and Vera Williams Riddle. Carl married Edith Maxine Stewart on July 23, 1948. They lived all over the country and settled in the Waco area upon retirement. He was a member of the Church of Christ and was an avid golfer who enjoyed playing often in the local senior league. Carl made it a goal and did live to celebrate his 65th wedding anniversary and his 85th birthday.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, James O. Riddle and Tom H. Riddle; and his daughter-in-law, Cynde Riddle.
Carl is survived by his wife of 65 years, Maxine Riddle of Speegleville; sons, Drew Riddle and wife, Betty of San Antonio, Bryan Riddle and wife, LaVerne of Mexia and Kyle Riddle and wife, Natalie of Mansfield; six grandchildren, Wes, Clint, Wade, Paige, Layne and Aubrey; two great grandchildren, Tucker and Charlotte; and his brother, Alvin Riddle of San Marcos.
