Dean Cozad

Dean Cozad, 48, of Hewitt died Thursday, October 17, 2002 at a local hospital. Services are to be 2:00 pm Monday at the OakCrest Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Richard Rust, Rev. Marvin Donnell and Rev. Ron Durham officiating. Burial will be in the Waco Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday afternoon from 6:00 to 9:00 pm at the OakCrest Funeral Home 4520 Bosque Blvd.
Dean was born on March 18, 1954 in Hammond, Indiana, to Jack L. and Hazel Jeanette (Glover) Cozad. He was united in marriage to Ann Reynaud. Dean was a security guard at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center and also for the Waco Regional Airport. He was a Firefighter for 20+ years, former Fire Chief for the Speegleville Fire Department, an EMT, avid hunter and gun collector.
He is survived by his wife Ann Cozad; daughters, Deana Moran and husband Bobby of Waco, Christy Cozad and husband Desi Garza of Dallas; son, Justin Cozad of Crawford.
Pallbearers will be Dale Yates , Brad Coone of Rural Metro Ambulance; Sean Etchison, Patrick Swanson of the Waco Police Department; Donny Garner of Bellmead Fire Department; Sedrick Nobles of Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center Security; Gary Hough of Speegleville Volunteer Fire Department and David Dresner of North Richland Hills Fire Department.
Honorary Pallbearers will be his fellow HBMC Security Officers, Rural Metro EMS Personnel, Waco Fire Fighters, Waco Police Officers and Waco Regional Airport Personnel, and Johnny Ruiz and Pat Donnell.
Memorials may be made to the Speegleville Fire Department.
