Delia Hernandez
November 21, 1927 – October 9, 2014
Delia Ramon Hernandez, 86, passed into the loving arms of our Heavenly Father on Thursday, October 9, 2014. Visitation will be 3-5 p.m. Sunday, October 12, 2014 at OakCrest Funeral Home, 4520 Bosque Blvd. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, October 13, 2014 at the Latin American United Methodist Church, 13th and Webster, with burial at Oakwood Cemetery.
“Momo”, as she was affectionately known by all, was born November 21, 1927 to Tadeo and Maria Padilla Ramon. As the eldest daughter, she was a second mother to her 8 brothers and sisters. Momo married Antonio C. Hernandez, January 12, 1946 in Waco, TX. They spent 56 wonderful years together until his death in 2002. Delia retired, after 25 years, from the VA Medical Center. She loved to crochet and was a wonderful cook, whose baked goods were enjoyed by all. She was devoted to her church, Latin American United Methodist Church, where she was a charter member. Momo was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Momo was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and two brothers.
She is survived by her children, Sammy Hernandez, Naomi Fajardo, Elizabeth Flores, Yolanda Garcia, and Virginia Bradburry; sisters, Eva Ponce, Tillie Stimmel, and Mary Lou Gayton; brothers, Julian Ramon, Henry Ramon, and Lupe Ramon; 15 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are Christopher Hernandez, Anthony Fajardo, Joey Gonzales, Fernando Fajardo, Darnell Horne, and Steve Garcia, Jr.
